Noemi Iglesias BARRIOS was born in Asturias, Spain in 1987.
She has studied in the Basqe Country University. In 2009 she received an Erasmus Grant to attend courses in Athens School of Fine Arts, where she was had been living and working for the last three years.
Her work combines different techniques: She creates sculptural reliefs from found objects, while, at the same time, she makes artistic interventions in public spaces, using the body as an instrument to create new forms of ephemeral artworks that question the nature and the meaning of the artistic object.

It is not an easy task for one to describe a feeling with one word, neither love nor revolution.
The project How I transformed to Aphrodite, presents a fusion between artists creative will and the image of the goddess: a passion that is responsible for the creative impulse that induces action.
Afterall, the figure is that of the loving one in action.
Incorporating the local environment in her works, she offers us the possibility to rethink and interpret space, presenting us a way to question our relations with the site and its transcendency in our everyday lives.
She has been presented in several individual and collective exhibitions, in Spain and abroad, with one of her most significant achievements the project in Meriñán, a plastic investigation in a proletarian neighbourhood.
