Kati MAHRT was born in Kiel, Germany, in 1956.

She studied visual art, science of art at the Academy of Fine Art Braunschweig (1975-1983)

From 1978 take part in many international group shows, important international Printmaking Biennials.

Several solo exhibitions in private galleries and museums.

Many works are included in public and private collections as well as in museum collections. 

1987, Prize of European Printmaking Biennial Stuttgart.

1998, Scholarship from the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany

2001, Scholarship from the federal state of Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany.

1983–1992 Teaching Fine arts and science of Art in the academy of Fine Art Braunschweig and in the University of Hildesheim (Germany).

1992–2007 Professor at the University of Hildesheim.

Since 2007 lives in Athens, Greece and Flensburg, Germany.
