Ursula- Helen Cassavetes was born in Athens in 1980.
Ph.D. on Film Theory and Cultural Studies

She holds a Diploma of Modern Greek Literature and Byzantine Studies [University of Athens- Faculty of Philosophy], a MA in Cultural Studies [University of Athens- Department of Communication and Mass Media studies].

Her research fields revolve around Film History (Melodrama/ Popular Comedy), Genre Theory, Narratology, Popular Culture (Film and Music) and Cinema Didactics for Children.

She has been a collaborator of the Greek Film Archive, organising various film festivals and realisιng a series of the Archive's educational programmes, and the European Animation Center.
