NATASHA AVRA'S DANCE GROUP

With its traditional vaults, the Bath House of the Winds conveys feelings of reflection and tranquillity but also a kind of latent tension. The performers transform the empty space into a dynamically pulsating one, creating vitality and meanings in their bodies, which persist or change momentarily. The choreography develops within the distinctiveness of the given condition: the Sacred, the Profane, and the Expiation. Balances are found transiently, are substituted with new ones, new passages are called for from one condition to the other.

NATASSA AVRA DANCE COMPANY

The company was created in 2011 and has to-date presented four productions: two solo performances and two collective choreographies.

Entitled “Intentions”, the last production went live in December 2012 and was performed by four dancers and one vocal artist.

From 2005 to 2010, Natassa Avra choreographed and performed with the dance company “kei fyssa”, of which she was a founding member. She has participated in the Contemporary Dance Platform at the Athens Concert Hall (2008). In 1997 she was awarded the Rallou Manou prize for young choreographers.
